Prenatal support throughout pregnancy by phone/text/email
Two in-person prenatal visits (with option for more) to discuss and develop your birth plan, practice labor support methods, discuss postpartum dynamics, and get to know one another
On-call from 38 weeks until your birth (option for 37+)
Early labor support by phone, text, or in-person as needed
Continuous in-person attendance and support throughout your birth and the first hours postpartum (with option to choose remote-only birth support)
Photography and/or video during your birth as desired
One postpartum home visit for physical & emotional wellbeing, house & family help, nursing support, etc.
Remote postpartum support via phone/text/email throughout your fourth trimester
Pricing: most packages range from $700 - $1200, and are fully customizable. Wellspring Birth uses a sliding scale, a tool which enables equity and justice in birth work, as well as protecting the full personhood and individuality of everyone involved. Read more about the sliding scale here.

Postpartum Support
In your “fourth trimester”, the transition from carrying your baby inside you to settling into life as separate beings is a precious and intense time. You and your family deserve support, compassion, and competent care. This may include:
natural nursing support, and/or help with sustainable feeding
housekeeping including light cleaning, laundry, organization, errands run, light gardening
emotional support and birth story discussion
family, older child, and pet care
support finding help for non-doula needs
newborn care including babywearing, newborn play, looking after baby while you rest, etc.
Pricing: $35/hour for 2-4 hours per session

Holistic Care

Katharine believes herbalism, food as medicine, and earth-grounded body care can make a true difference to your wellbeing. Herbs and oils must only be used with respect for their strengths, limitations, and interactions. Katharine’s herbalist offerings include the following:
custom herbal protocols for pregnancy, labor, and postpartum comfort & wellbeing
custom herbal creations including perineal healing sitz baths, hormonal regulation & full-body nutrition, hemorrhoid salves, swelling solutions, realistic galactagogues, gentle UTI remedies, labor support tinctures, etc.
aromatherapy and oils for safe, microbiome-supportive use in pregnancy and labor
understanding appropriate substitutions for pharmaceutical medicine, and when herbs are not enough or should be avoided
Pricing: $45 per 1-hour consultation; custom products priced at full cost of ethically sourced supplies + $15/hour preparation time
With years as a home and community herbalist, Katharine is a certified childbearing-year herbalist through Herbal Medics Academy. Her mentor, Katia Lemone, is a senior professional midwife and clinical herbalist of 30 years. Katharine’s practice incorporates the strong healing work of plants in harmony with your other chosen healthcare options, all backed by the latest available research.

Within her scope as a birthworker, Katharine offers home-visit pregnancy massage customized to your needs, and with specific accommodations for your pregnant and postpartum body. Birthwork massage is not a cure-all, but is an excellent ally in:
safely relieving tension, pain, and muscle/joint strain associated with pregnancy
promoting better fluid regulation and relieving symptoms of swelling and sluggishness
aiding in ability to rest deeply, move comfortably, and ease bodily transitions
grounding you in your body and self during this transformative time

Pricing: $25 per 30-minute session; $45 per 1-hour session
Katharine’s massage credentials include the full training Licensed Massage Therapists take to qualify as prenatal specialists (training ongoing). However, she is not an LMT. She offers massage only within her scope as a birth doula, and as part of prenatal or postpartum doulacare. She is happy to recommend resources for prenatal-certified full LMTs as desired.

Katharine is a true gourmet at heart. She prioritizes fresh, healthy and hearty foods to nourish and uplift you, prepared to be delicious. If food-prep and meal/weekly menu creation are a stress-point for you, or if your dietary needs make normal options less accessible, she can work with you to:
meet pregnancy and postpartum nutrition goals to your dietary restrictions
plan and purchase your groceries
cook and meal-prep in your home, or elsewhere by discussion
create batch meals for freezing
plan for dietary & health-need accommodation
Pricing: fully customized to your needs
Note: this is not a cottage food business, nor is this service a restaurant/delivery or commercial kitchen. Katharine is able to assist you with your own food goals, and this assistance is the intended service.

If the thought of navigating the medical and insurance systems around birth is overwhelming or anxiety inducing - if navigating the phone calls and online interfaces, insurance barriers and even hospital layouts seems very stressful - this service is for you. Katharine’s support may include:
appointment scheduling
paperwork assistance
insurance wrangling
accompaniment to and/or debriefing from appointments
researching providers & understanding recommendations and sorting through literature
navigating assistance options like social work, payment plans, etc.
Pricing: $35 per hour
Katharine has years of professional experience in patient advocacy within these systems as an inpatient unit coordinator, and as an outpatient executive surgical support & patient services manager. She both respects and has a healthy skepticism of our hospital systems.

Baby showers & nesting parties, mother blessings & closing of the bones… Such events can mean a lot of coordination. Creating registries & invitations, setting up or booking vendor contracts, wrangling complex family situations, and of course decorations & food & set-up… This is a lot of work. Katharine has 15 years of professional experience doing just this! Her support might include:

Katharine has managed large and small events from weddings to baby showers to corporate presentations to children’s birthdays. She has coordinated the most formal events to the completely casual. Let her take the stress out of these joyful times.
